A fabulous way to spend New Year and a special birthday. Everything we could have wished for and more. Heavy rain to beautiful snowy scenes. Hardly moved the car. Going home totally chilled in more ways than one.

What a glorious spot. We’ve had a great time here at Viewpoint. The whole cottage is finished to a really great standard.
Beds very comfy, bed linen excellent, the kitchen is very well equipped. We brought all we needed for Christmas lunch and were able to go to church on Christmas Day. Opened pressies eat lunch Oh it was the perfect day then walking up Loughrigg. Highly recommended and already have some friends keen to book for next year.

This is our fifth time here and we just love it! This is undoubtably the best holiday of the year. The venue is stunning as always and we will back again next year. We’ve had lots of lovely walks into Ambleside. We visited The Priest Hole for an evening meal- highly recommend. A trip to Keswick on a market day at this time of year is also recommended. Lovely stalls, shops and festive feel. Thank you for an excellent stay again!

It doesn’t get any better than this! The beauty of the Lakes and the comforts of home. Secluded yet convenient. So many lovely walks nearby and you can enjoy the outside even if you don’t go out. (Sitting in the living room and looking at the views is amazing.) This is out 4th year here - we love it! We’ll be counting the days until we can come back again.

Thank you for the perfect stay! What a beautiful cottage in such a stunning location. Over from Kenya visiting our daughter at Sedbergh school. We had the best weekend, walks to the caves, to Grasmere, fireworks in Ambleside and a very special weekend. We will be back!

What a stunning property in a stunning location! We’ve had a fabulous short break-visiting lots of familiar places to us from when our parents used to live in Grasmere. We’ve felt very spoilt by the luxury of the house-feeling like we’ve experienced a true Grand Design. We enjoyed a walk to Ambleside a boat over to Bowness and a mosey around Grasmere. We enjoyed lovely food at Misto and the travellers rest. (Would definitely recommend the Jumble room for any foodies out there

Beautiful! The Lakes, Riverside Terrace, The amenities, the location. Rain or shine, you can enjoy it all from the comfort of the living room. And once you step outside there are so many gorgeous trails to follow. You can never tire of this place. We love walking into Ambleside or going up into the hills. No real need to drive. Inside you have everything you could want great kitchen, thick towels, spa like bathrooms, comfortable beds and it is all so immaculately clean

This is our first visit and stay at Waterside
We come to Ambleside 2 of 3 times a year and always comment on the cottages, one day hoping to stay - it hasn’t disappointed ! There is everything you need for a very special stay. “Waterside is exceptional!!
Weather was wet to say the least but it didn’t stop us making the most of our walks through the beautiful surrounding landscapes! Love it, love it, !!
Will definitely be back.

A truly special place, just what I was looking for. Incredible weather too, from amazing sunshine to heavy snow, I have never taken so many photos!
Lots of amazing walks from the door step, to many to mention all but try Tarn Hows from Hawkshead (about 6 mile circular) from Ambleside to Rydal water from Grasmere (Grasmere gingerbread a must!) and 6 mile circular from Elterwater to Skelwith Bridge (Chesters coffee shop a must!).
Loved the bath and views from the windows every morning. Hope to be back soon.

Wow! What a fabulous place to stay. Viewpoint was so comfortable that we don’t want to go home!
The weather was kind to us and we enjoyed some lovely walks in the area. We loved sitting by the fire and just looking out at the beautiful views

What an absolutely beautiful place to stay!
The location is perfect and the views are spectacular (even on rainy days ????)
One of the best lodges we have ever stayed in. Furnished to a very high standard and equipped with everything and more you need for your stay.
We wandered into Ambleside and can highly recommend a few lovely places to eat.

- The Priest Hole (best Sunday lunch Ever)
My husband and Son walked Loughrigg Fell and Nab Scar and Rydal cave. I was happy to potter around Viewpoint admiring the beautiful views given the torrential rain.
We can highly recommend the Apple pie bakery in Ambleside for the most amazing pastries

As soon as we arrive at Riverside Terrace we relax and all is well with the world .
The peaceful location of the property is superb - fantastic views with plenty of great walking to be had
We mentioned ‘Kirsty’ (Ambleside restaurant) in an earlier review and another occupant suggesting Chester’s by the river is also very much worth a visit for lunch or snack if you appreciate good coffee and and homemade vegetarian/vegan food.
We look forward to returning to ‘This special place’
